The Weaving Bit

Here's a couple of projects from the new color combo. The cat's head basket may get a lid as well. I thought I'd experiment with the lid on the little basket. It has a ridge of felt underneath to keep it in place. If I do some more dying I might throw the wool in too so the lid is the exact color of the reed.

I LOVE the color combo! You do nice work! :)
Thanks Juliana. Wish I had better light in the pictures because they are really bright green.
You could try the photo editing site called picnik.com....you can fix colors and exposure, etc...for free! I have to use it alot myself!

very nice, but a shame if the color is wrong. I use a free google program called Picasa. You can download it for free. It adjusts color and contrast with just one click....
Let me know if you would like further instructions...
Thanks. I actually do use Picasa but need to go back to setting up a white background for photos. It doesn't take much to throw the color off.
I just love this color combo. I find it inspiring to weave with these colors and to do some more dying. The little wool lid is simply perfect.
My .02 for the photos after reading the comments. My back patio faces the North so it is shaded. I take my photos outside in the shade but while the sun is shining. I use a black towel thrown over a chair for a backdrop. I've been pretty pleased with the colors I get taking the pics outside.
Have a blessed Sunday,
Nancy

Have to agree with Nany regarding taking photos outside. I do this when ever possible. Because i find that the flash messes up the color and even more so the ligth/shadow.

About picasa: Does the "i feel lucky" bottun not give you more natural colors?
Yes, you both are right about outdoor photography. The color in the post with the magazine is true and I got it on a bright day in the window light. This photo was taken with the flash turned off but somehow even with the "feel lucky" option I couldn't get it right. I'm not always 'feeling lucky'! ;) Spring is on its way and I will get a dry spot outside soon. There are some pussy willows bursting forth on a Japanese fantail willow where my husband works and they are really big ones!
Thanks to all for the helpful suggestions. Cheers, Shari
