Flowers in April

I took advantage of the sunlight today to get a few pictures of the things I've been trying out. The little blossoms have pin backs on them and the sunflower which is the size of my hand still needs a stem. The pink primrose will get "planted" in a little terracotta pot. In the mean time I'm trimming up some branches to make a trellis and obelisks for the garden. Hoping the rain holds off! Back to work........

Flight Path

Another familiar sign of spring here in the Maritimes is the return of the Canada geese on their way north for the summer. On a recent trip to Prince Edward Island it was great to see the plowed fields full of geese picking away at the leftovers. No doubt they still have a long way to go. Needless to say it inspired a felt project. It's the first time I attempted to use wire for feet and they're not perfect but he stands on his own! I wrapped the wire with brown floral tape and it kind of looks like web feet.

On another topic, apologies to anyone who left comments that went into the ether. I changed some settings because folks were having trouble posting a comment and obviously it didn't work. It should be sorted out now.

I'm off to work on some twiggy bits today and will hopefully get back to getting new posts up with fresh work. There are a LOT of distractions in the spring.

The Weather's Fine!

Hellebore already in bloom. It's the very first thing in my yard that signals spring. The weather's been fantastic so I've been outside everyday getting the leaves off the flowers beds and finding lots of signs of an actual spring. Haven't been doing  much weaving but the rainy days will be back I'm sure. Here's another sign of spring in my yard......

And a couple of little birds....
