Work in Progress

These two little baskets are woven from the same section of bark but the color is quite different.

The mauve basket is from bark layers just under the white outside bark and then the next layers produced the darker sand color.  The tiny glass beads are from the same mixture and went well with both shades of wax linen. Now to finish the rims and handles. What's on your workbench today?

Well, I have three looms set up this morning! One is a linen band that's finished, so I will cut that off. Another linen/cotton band and a large woolen sash are in the works. Then I need to start two custom orders, one colorful guitar strap and some cotton straps for attaching cushions to picnic benches! Busy day!

I just 'discovered' your blog and want to let you know how beautiful your baskets are! I recently emigrated from Canada to the tropics of Australia, and the images on your blog gave me a little reminder of some of the things I love about home this morning, so thanks!

Thanks for dropping by Catherine! We have family in Sydney NSW so have been getting weather related news from Australia. For some reason they won't visit us at home in February. ;)
