From the Dye Pot

Yesterday was a perfect day to get some dying done. It was dry and windy so I loaded up the deck railings with a rainbow of colored reed.

By the end of the day I had gone from yellow to red to purple to chestnut and finally two shades of my favorite color, green! I even did a little graduated dying with a couple of new tree pods. They are an experiment in shaping.

I'm thinking they will be the perfect excuse for the collectors among us that need to bring home rocks and cones and acorns. Collector pods!

There's that big leaf goldenray starting to open. It's so nice to have a new blooms this late in the growing season.

Love your pods. I will try to make some like that from willow. Maybe for bird feeders outside or for toys, onions or just decorations indoors

Like Piletossen, I love those pods and think they will be great made with willow as well. BTW, how is your willow growing?
