Challenge

There is an exhibit coming up at the Cape Breton Center for Craft and Design in the fall called the Myth in the Mist. It will coincide with the Celtic Colors music festival that brings visitors from all over the world so the exhibit is based on the old world stories of little people from many cultures. I've been trying to decide what to weave for this exhibit and have looked for inspiration. The old maple tree in the picture is down by the river behind the studio and it has always made me think that it has a personality or another life we know nothing about. It's very old and has lots of scars from weathering the seasons but still stands tall. Maybe it has it's own guardians in the form of faeires or sprites of some sort? It's a place to start imagining...........
